Enhanced Curriculum

WRU Hub Officer

Every pupil here at Ysgol Heol Goffa has the opportunity to participate in a rugby/PE lesson every week.

This can range from sensory lessons to rebound therapy to a traditional PE lesson. The pupils engage really well, and their skills have improved dramatically.

We try to get out as much as possible and have recently attended matches versus other SEN establishments along with attending events such as the WRU SEN Urdd 7's we have also attended lots of Inclusion rugby festivals/events.

Something that was extremely popular is when we run wheelchair rugby in school, something we will definitely be doing again shortly.

This year we have also run Rugby Leaders qualification whereby our learners do a coaching course and go at teach others. We have done this internally with great success and are now taking our Rugby Leaders out to local primary schools to deliver a rugby lesson.

Pupils also have the opportunity to join extra-curricular clubs (both lunchtime and after school) our ICC and Young Warriors sessions on a Wednesday evening are increasingly popular.

If anyone wants any further information, please don't hesitate to send me an email

Providing a robust range of support from open access to specialised support enabling children and young people from 8- 25 years access to what they need, when they need it so they can reach their personal, social, and educational potential.

As a youth service we help to support young people to address the issues they are facing, as well as learn coping mechanisms to support them in the future and give them the confidence to make positive decisions.

Help to develop a voice, influence, and gain a place in society.

We look at: life skills, positive relationships, volunteering roles, work experience, DofE, afterschool youth clubs

We have been lucky to be involved in some fantastic projects over the past year far to many to mention but here are just a few.
