Our Curriculum
At Heol Goffa we are committed to providing a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which is based on experiential learning.
The four purposes are at heart the of our school. Alongside our values, they drive all decisions on what and how we teach.
- Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives.
- Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.
- Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world.
- Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
The Curriculum for Wales has allowed us to develop our own personal curriculum for Heol Goffa, enabling learners to develop towards the four Purposes across six Areas of Learning and Experience (AoLEs). These are...
- Expressive Arts
- Health and Well-being
- Humanities
- Languages, Literacy and Communication
- Mathematics
- Science and Technology
We focus on developing the cross-curricular skills literacy, numeracy and digital skills alongside communication and wellbeing in all that we do, through purposely planned engaging experiences. Progress towards these and IDP outcomes are shared throughout the year, via our learning passport targets on class dojo.
Each term, staff and pupils develop topic based learning programmes around IDP outcomes, learning passport targets, which is taught through the six Areas of Learning and Experience (AoLEs) and is shared with parents and carers termly.
